Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! A fun fact about this day that I read on Wikipedia is that “originally the colour associated with Saint Patrick was blue. Over the years the colour green and its association with Saint Patrick’s day grew. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick’s Day as early as the 17th century. Saint Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish, and the wearing and display of shamrocks and shamrock-inspired designs have become a ubiquitous feature of the day. In the 1798 rebellion, to make a political statement, Irish soldiers wore full green uniforms on 17 March in hopes of catching public attention.” I may just wear blue and say I am authentic! I hope everyone has the luck of the Irish with them today!
Today in Connecticut the weather was absolutely stunning for February. The birds were chirping and everyone was out enjoying the sunshine. I was able to capture this quick photo in between Sunday strollers. Looking at the picture you would never guess it’s the middle of winter in the northeast.
Today was one of those days where you felt that spring was right around the corner. It made me think that warmer days are on their way and how soon my surroundings will be green and lush. In honor of today’s weather I put together a secret garden inspiration board. If you are getting married in spring I couldn’t think of anything better than a secret garden themed wedding. It is always breath-taking and has an air of mystery about the whole affair.
In the middle of winter it’s hard not to think about warm sandy beaches, cloudless blue skies, and crystal clear water. A destination wedding is a great way to escape the cold. Warm weather isn’t the only bonus about having a destination wedding, they are cheaper than you would think and usually are less than a traditional wedding. If you feel overwhelmed by the idea of planning a wedding then destination might be the route to take, most resorts have all-inclusive packages that have everything included, so all you have to do it sit back and soak in the rays.
